“My brakes are squealing. Am I going to crash into a tree and die?”
“Why do I owe taxes to California? I thought I paid those already!”
“401k, Roth IRA, IRA. What should I do? I don’t get it.”
Whenever I have car trouble, finance trouble, health trouble, broken sink trouble …
I call my dad. I rely heavily on my dad’s advice now that I’ve moved out of the house. I’m sure I’m not the only one!
This blog will be a collection of our conversations that may help others if they can’t get a hold of their dad. No, my dad’s not a lawyer, doctor, tax attorney, … he’s just a dad. He’s a writer whose professional experience concentrates on explaining complex retirement plans and benefits to employees and that’s enough for me 🙂
If you have any questions, feel free to post a comment and I’ll bring it up with him. He explains everything clearly and simply in a way you can relate to.
UPDATE: I started this blog in 2011, when I was 24. I was a single, struggling young professional in Los Angeles. I needed his help with the BASICS. Now, I’m a married, confident television professional in Washington D.C. But now that we’ve bought a house in the suburbs, I’m lost once again… “What is the deal with mulch?” “How much home insurance is too much home insurance?” So I’m reviving this bog to include a whole new category of posts!
